Electricity Update

According to AC electric the power was out in the campground for approximately 5 hours. That is on the borderline of how long an unopened fridge/freezer will keep things from perishing. So please evaluate your food items before eating them.

Irene Update

So far so good!  Joe called a few minutes ago and said the park seems to have fared well.  He is currently getting the wells back online and checking around the park.  I’m sure there will be some tree debris as well as road pitting but he hasn’t see anything major yet.  Cape May County is still under a state of emergency so travel by non-emergency vehicles is prohibited.  If I hear anything else I’ll update here (and Facebook).

Emergency Evacuation of Cape May County

ATTENTION

Cape May County officials signed an emergency proclamation on Thursday, August 25th at 2:00 P.M.  The emergency proclamation calls for MANDATORY evacuation of barrier islands today and MANDATORY evacuation of all of Cape May County at 8 A.M. On Friday, August 26th.

We’ll keep everyone posted after the storm passes as to what (if any) damage the park has taken due to the storm.  Check back here for notices.

Condo Fee Notice

If anyone missed today’s meeting or would like another copy of the condo fee bill sent electronically please email board@seashorelinecr.com with your site number and contact info. After a few days I’ll mail the remainder by US mail. Help us save paper and stamps.

Condo Fee Notices Going Out

We’ll be sending out the condo fee notices within a week, and I’m happy to announce that the fees are staying the same for the 2012 season.  We will be handing the notices out at the meeting this Sunday, and will mail out the remainder the following week. Hopefully that will save us some stamps 😉

A Magical Evening!

This weekend there will be a Magic Show Saturday evening at the pole barn.  Join us at 8:00 PM and be amazed as renowned magician Arnaldo Leggi  puts on a dazzling show that should delight and awe children and adults.  This show is for everyone.

On Sunday morning we’ll have our local fire department roll in some of the big trucks to give everyone tips on fire safety.  Bring out the kids to the field behind the pole barn and they can get up close and personal with a real fire tanker and meet the fire crew.

Halloween at Seashore Line

On Saturday July 30th we’ll be celebrating our spooktacular Halloween event as the park.  As usual we’ll have our trick or treating  in the evening as well as the SCARY haunted house at the activity center after dark.  A lot of work goes into the haunted house as members of the Seashore Line family transform our activity center into a creepy maze filled with terror and ghastly vision at every turn.  Enter if you dare!

This year we are adding in even more fun with our haunted hayride around the campground.  As you take the ride look around at the members of the community that decorate their homes for Halloween.  The top 3 decorated homes will receive prizes this year so don’t hold back.  I look forward to seeing you all there!

July Update

Hi all.  I thought I’d update a few things that I will be presenting at this weeks owner’s meeting, which is consequently Sunday at 10:00 AM (hint hint).

Manager’s Position
As many of you know we have filled our full time manager’s position with Joe Simpson.  Most know him around the park as he has been our part time maintenance person now for the past 8 years.  During the time the park was without a full time person Joe stepped up and covered the park expertly and when he announced his interest to leave his other part time job and become our full time manager we felt as this was a perfect fit.  Joe brings to the park an diverse skill set, as well as a solid knowledge of the park and the people that live there.   I for one am very glad Joe decided to apply.

Campground WiFi
We’ve been working with Comcast as well as some network professionals to get our WiFi as best as we can without spending an absorbent amount of money.  We are in the process of re-calibrating the antenna and have located 2 additional access points (that were apparently already purchased) and should have a large amount of the park covered within the month.  Anyone with mobile computing devices that could help test and tweak the network should contact me.

Water Issues
We had a few interruptions in water service in the past couple weeks.  2 of them were due to a fault in the water softener which is being addressed.  The other was a main break that happened this past Saturday.  Thankfully Joe, Marty, Dave, and a few other residents pitched in and repaired the underground leak and got our water back online.  This was a perfect example of how good it is to have knowledgeable people on hand instead of having to contact out to get things repaired.

There is a few more things to discuss but I don’t want to give out everything here yet.  People won’t come to the meeting.  Hopefully see you all Sunday at 10:00.

Happy Birthday America

We kicked off the 4th in the traditional Seashore Line way and had our annual Olympics and parade.  As usual the turn-out was great and everyone had a good time.  Thanks goes out to Carol and Ann, and all those who helped make this event a success every year!

Gate Update

I am pleased to report the front gate is now fixed! All cards should work as before.  We also have a new number to remotely open the gate which will be placed on the office bulliten board.  Thank you everyone for your patience.
