Chili Cookoff Postponed

Probably since we have so much already going on for the July 4th weekend, interest in the Chili cookoff was very low. Ok I’ll be honest, no one signed up at all. However I still think we can pull this off at a later date and will reschedule this soon.

Gate Update

Good news. Within the next 24 hours the gate should be returned to full operation. I’ll have the phone number and code to operate it remotely, posted in the office this weekend. Thank you all for your patience and understanding.

Manager Position Update

It’s been just under a month since our full time manager resigned. We have so far received over a dozen resumes and have conducted some interviews. Out of those we have a couple of promising applicants. We all want to move quickly on this while making sure we give due diligence and hire the best candidate. Luckily Joe and Ed have stepped up to pick up the slack and most of the duties are being tended to.

Anyone needing gate cards please email me at board@seashorelinecr.com and we’ll get you them as quickly as possible. For those who have used the phone system to open the gate remotely, due to the phone number being attached to Neil, that system is currently offline until we get Comcast to reconnect the gate to a new number. That should be done very soon.

Memorial Day Honor Ceremony

Today we honored our veterans at our annual Memorial day ceremony.  It was a beautiful tribute organized by our own Marty Coyle.  Flags were placed in our honor garden to honor those in our hearts that are no longer with us that dedicated themselves to serve our country and protect our freedom.  It was very humbling to see even in our small community so many flags planted in the garden.  It puts into perspective the steep price of our freedom and way of life, and we are so thankful for so many of our men and women who put themselves in harms way to keep us safe.  I’d also like to thank Marty Coyle, Eileen Coyle, Garrett Coyle, Ron Taylor Jr, Casey Skala, and all of those who made this such a wonderful day.  Thank you again to our veterans and God bless!

Announcement

Members of the Seashore Line Family,

I’d like to update everyone on a few things that have occurred over the last week.   Neil Bigwood, our maintenance manager has decided to resign his position at Seashore Line, effective May 27th 2011.  As you can all imagine this comes at a very inopportune time with the season about to begin.    Although we have tried to prevent this or even delay it, Neil feels that it is in his best interests, and we reluctantly accepted his resignation and wish him the best.  Neil has provided our community years of diligent service and we’d like to thank him for his hard work and dedication to Seashore Line.  The board of trustees has worked with our remaining employees, Joe and Ed to provide coverage for the immediate future as we work to try and fill Neil’s vacancy.  There will not be any reduction in services of the resort during this time.  The board along with the members of the committees will look to fill this position as quickly as possible.   Anyone that knows of a possible person that may be interested in this position please contact the board and we will get in touch with them.

Additionally, I also have to report that effective immediately Anthony Yackovelli has resigned from his position as a trustee.    The board would like to extend our gratitude to Mr. Yackovelli for his hard work and service to the community as a trustee, and look forward to our continued friendship with him in the Seashore Line family.

As everyone can imagine this leaves 2 large voids that will be felt by us all, and we will need everyone’s support, understanding, and assistance to pull together and work to fill these areas quickly with qualified people.   Your help will be most welcomed and appreciated.  As for now, Greg Ferretti, Ed Dodds, and myself will continue to do our best and serve the members of Seashore Line and will update everyone whenever we get some more news.     I can take pride that our community is very close knit, and I know I can always count on our members to come together to solve any challenge.  Regardless of these issues, I know the 2011 season will be filled with the good times, warm memories, and close friendships that make our resort the unique and wonderful place it has always been.

Pool Update

The pool is about ready for filling.  One of the 1st things you may notice is that it is no longer blue.  That is because the pool is not painted but plastered.  This means no more flaking or chipping and it will last us much longer.

Pool Part 2

Here are some pictures of the pool being worked on.   All of the old paint has been blasted off and now it is being smoothed out and repaired.   There will be new markers added, some cosmetic updates, and then resealed.

Pool Project

Over the next week or so, you may notice some work being done on the pool. The pool is getting a facelift. They will be blasting off all the caked up old paint and replastering the entire pool. New tile and trim will be added and then resealed and painted. The entire project should take about a week, weather pending, and be ready for the season kick-off.
