Joe and Gene have been hard at work revamping the game room. I don’t want to spoil the surprise but there will be a lot of new and fun things to do with a whole new look and feel when the park opens up again in April. Here is a sneak peak of the now empty game room with the start of its facelift.
Emergency Road Work
We need to make some long overdue repairs to the front entrance. There is some major pits and potholes as you enter the park off of King’s Highway. The board has been working very hard in the last couple of weeks on a plan to get our front regraded, resurfaced and sealed. In the last week the planets (and pricing) aligned perfectly and this work can start tomorrow morning (Monday November 19th). For the next couple of days there will be restricted access to the park while the work is going on. People will still be able to come in and out but construction will be going on. I’m sorry about the short notice as this has just all come together, and cannot be put off through the winter.
Hurricane Update
I am happy to report that after initial inspection the park has sustained no damage. Joe has driven around the park and it also appears that no properties have any visible external damage. We do have some large puddles as well as some down trees, but none that are in danger of doing any damage so cleanup should be quick. Once the plumbing has been checked we will be able to restore water to the park which should be no later than tomorrow (10/31). According to the electronic monitoring devices, there was no power loss during the storm of any significance. I hope that everyone has fared the storm well and stayed safe. As always if anything comes up I will send notification. Take care all and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Note: I have sent this information out to all the contact emails I have which is about 190 owners. If you did not receive email notification that means I do not have your current email address. Should you wish email notification in the future please email me your contact information (along with site number) to board@seashorelinecr.com
Update
Joe has the park all buttoned up and shut down. Everyone has evacuated. Now all we can do is wait and pray for the best. I hope everyone goes through this unscathed and safe. As always no matter what happens the unity and resilience of the Seashore Line family will pitch in and handle whatever is thrown our way. We’ll keep everyone updated as news comes in.
Stay Safe!
Mandatory Evacuation
We have been notified that although we are currently under a voluntary evacuation this will become a mandatory evacuation by Sunday. Please be prepared to evacuate the park by Sunday afternoon. If we hear any changes I will post updates here. Please take all precautions and be safe.
Oktoberfest Saturday
A reminder that this upcoming Saturday 10/20 is the annual Oktoberfest celebration. Dinner at 6:00 PM, music at 8:00 PM. Please remember to bring food and paper products along with your favorite brew.
Park Closing Day
Due to high owner interest, the water in the park will stay on until after Thanksgiving, weather permitting. The water shut off date will be Sunday November 25th. The water may need to be shut off earlier if the weather calls for consistent sub-freezing temperatures. Management will keep an eye on the weather and post any change in this date as soon as possible should the need arise.
Condo Fee Notice
Here is an electronic copy of the 2013 condo fee notice. This will be mailed out shortly but for those eager people who can’t wait to get their payment in. You can do so now.
Election Update
Due to the confusion by the previous ballots being placed online and in the letter box at the gate, the ballots need to be voided. According to the by-laws to ensure that every owner receives their ballot and to maintain the integrity of the election process, ballots are required to be mailed. I have sent out the official ballots to all owners’ US mail boxes. The mailing includes the ballot, information about the candidates, and a stamped return envelope. Following procedure the anonymous ballots will be returned to the special PO Box and opened by members of the election committee. To prevent any old ballots being confused with new ballots, the form was changed and includes the word OFFICIAL on the header. Due to the delay and to make sure everyone has time to get their vote counted I need to extend the voting period until October 20th. Therefore the results will not be ready for the September 16th owner’s meeting. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
